Mahendranagar. KANCHANPUR: The Nepal Army (NA) has rescued three persons out of 17 people who had gone in search of mushroom in the Shuklaphanta National Park in Kanchanpur.

A team led by Lieutenant Colonel Suman KC of the Randal Singh Battalion deployed for the security of Shuklaphanta National Park rescued Laxmi Thapa Magar, Sita Chaudhary and Manju Rana Chhetri of Beldadi Rural Municipality-2 this morning and handed them over to their families.

The army found the three people about four kilometers away from the Lalleri post inside the park.

According to the army, the three people from Beldadi had sneaked into the park on Sunday in search of mushrooms. Similarly, a group of 14 women who entered Shuklaphanta from Bhimdutta Municipality-19, Bagphanta are still out of contact.

According to the Randal Battalion, a large number of army teams have been mobilized inside the national park to search for the missing women.

The women had entered the park from Bagphanta area on Sunday afternoon in search of mushrooms. Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, Deputy Superintendent of Police Tek Bahadur Rawat said that they are searching for the missing women.
