Kathmandu. The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration has directed the employees of the District Coordination Committee and the local levels to be present at the office compulsorily in view of the increasing risk of disasters like incessant rainfall, flood and landslide in different parts of the country.

The circular issued by the Local Level Coordination Section of the Ministry states that all the employees of the local levels and the district coordination committee should be present at the office regularly in order to make the disaster management, rescue, relief, coordination and service delivery effective.

According to the letter, the employees will have to play an active role in coordination, facilitation and decision-making process without leaving the office during the disaster period. The Ministry has also directed the employees who are currently on leave to be present at the concerned office and fulfill their responsibilities.

The Ministry has urged the local levels to coordinate with the District Administration Office, security bodies, Province and Federal agencies for the collection of disaster-related information, rescue and relief work, damage details and other necessary arrangements.

Similarly, if a situation arises to leave the office due to special circumstances, the office should be left only after taking prior approval of the concerned body and making proper management of the responsibility.

The Ministry has stated that it has issued the directive to provide quick and effective services to the people at a time when the risk of disaster is increasing and to make relief and rescue work systematic.
