Siraha Traffic Police collects over Rs 10 million revenue

Kathmandu. The District Traffic Police Office, Siraha, has collected Rs 114÷36,000 in revenue in the last fiscal year 208283.

Police Inspector Nabin Marasini, chief of the District Police Office, said that revenue of Rs 11.44 million was collected from 13,416 vehicles violating traffic rules during the period.

In the fiscal year 2081÷82, the government had collected Rs 25.119 million revenue from the action taken against 32,157 drivers.

A total of 1,020 road accidents took place in Siraha district in the fiscal year 2082÷83 during the period. A total of 62 men, seven women and 12 children were killed and 1,676 were injured.

In the previous fiscal year 2081÷82, 64 men, 14 women and 11 children were killed in 967 road accidents in Siraha. A total of 1,554 people were injured in the incident.

Police Inspector Marasini said although the number of road accidents has increased somewhat due to road condition and human negligence, the number of people dying in road accidents has decreased in the current fiscal year.

It is believed that the number of road accidents has decreased in the last year due to traffic awareness and regular checking.
