Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has said that the policy and legal complexities of economic reforms announced in the budget should be removed in mission mode.

He said this while discussing the reform plans related to the Ministry of Industry for the implementation of the budget for the fiscal year 2083/84 held at the Ministry on Thursday.

On the occasion, the Finance Minister stressed on the need for each ministry to move ahead works by making a schedule of policy and legal issues related to economic reforms to be carried out in the industry, commerce and supply sector.

Stating that most of the economic reform programmes announced in the budget were in the Ministry of Industry, he said that cooperation between the two ministries would be increased to remove the confusion.

“The Ministry of Industry should expedite the policy and legal works that have been said to improve the budget,” said Finance Minister Wagle. ”

He said that immediate legal works to create investment-friendly environment, trade facilitation and attract foreign investment should be completed within a few weeks.

Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Gauri Kumari Yadav said homework was underway to forward the reform plan in the budget.

According to him, it is necessary to coordinate with each other by taking technical assistance from the Ministry of Finance in the works that fall under the jurisdiction of the Ministry.

“There are 8 reform programmes in the budget under the Ministry of Industry,” she said, adding, “We have started works on some and are in the phase of forwarding some of them.” ”

In the budget for the current fiscal year, eight legal and policy reforms have been announced under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies.

These include amendments to the Companies Act, Insolvency Act, Debt Recovery Act, and new laws related to intellectual property protection.

With the implementation of the budget for the new fiscal year, the Ministry of Finance has prepared a schedule to regularly discuss the implementation of the programmes announced in the budget with the responsible ministries and take progress report.
