Kathmandu. The United States military has halted military action against Iran, according to local media. However, different media outlets have given different details about the reason for stopping the attack.
CNN quoted a Pentagon source as saying that the US military action has been suspended. However, the source did not specify how long the operation was suspended.
CBS News, citing two regional sources, said Oman’s delegation was traveling to Tehran to discuss the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
Meanwhile, The New York Times reported that President Donald Trump has postponed plans to expand military operations after a senior US adviser warned that the stockpile of interceptor missiles used in air defense systems was dwindling.
Dan Cain, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, has warned that the US Central Command could run out of its stockpile of interceptor missiles if further military action is carried out, the New York Times reported.
The US has so far used more than 1,200 Patriot interceptors in military operations against Iran. Each interceptor costs more than $4 million.
