Kathmandu. Cigarette manufacturing company Surya Nepal has a business of Rs 32.35 billion in the year 2025. The company’s business has increased significantly compared to the previous year.

According to the available financial records, the company had a turnover of around Rs 28.82 billion in 2024 and Rs 28.99 billion in 2023. According to the company, the operating profit and net profit margin remained stable despite the growth in business.

The company’s debt level is very low. Credit protection indicators are also in a strong position as there has been continuous cash flow from operating activities. According to the rating company, the company has not taken long-term loan from any bank or financial institution so far. As of 2025, its debt obligations are limited to lease obligations.

Surya Nepal’s overall gearing ratio is 0.01 times. The company has bank deposits, Rs 1.2 billion in treasury bills and Rs 216 million in deposits as of the end of 2025. The company has been regularly distributing dividends to its shareholders.

Established in 1986, Surya Nepal has 61 percent stake in Indian company ITC and 39 percent by Nepali companies and individual investors. The company, which manufactures cigarettes, incense sticks and branded packaged food, has been manufacturing and selling incense sticks through its subsidiary Surya Nepal Ventures Pvt. Ltd. The company has also recently started exporting honey under the ‘Marani’ brand.

Surya Nepal has been manufacturing cigarettes in the market for four decades and has been distributing various brands including Surya Legend, Surya 24 Carat, Surya Luxury King, Surya Fusion, Shikhar, Ras, Naulo, Khukuri, Pilot, Pulse, Bijli and Chautari. The company has a rating of Rs 5.75 billion for short-term loan. Sanjeev Puri is the chairman of the company.
