Iran says Strait of Hormuz is ‘pinnacle of power’

Kathmandu. Iran’s parliament deputy speaker Hamidreza Haji Babaei said Iran could never reach an agreement with the US and described the strategic Strait of Hormuz as the “pinnacle of strength”.

“We will continue to pursue a policy of deterrence and that any actions in the Caspian Sea will not be acceptable,” he warned.

Addressing a closed-door session of parliament, Haji Babaei described Hezbollah’s support for the Iranian leadership as an important achievement of the resistance movement, according to the ISNA news agency.

He said that this has increased the influence of Iran and the defense at the regional and international level, and forced the US and Israel to withdraw.

He quoted the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei as saying that preserving Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and ending Israeli aggression were the first conditions for any possible understanding.

Quoting the current Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Moztaba Hosseini Khamenei, Haji Babai said there was no alternative to jihad and resistance and that success would be achieved if we persisted in this path.

In a scathing reference to the US, he said Iran should not conform to Washington’s wishes and allow the US to play an influential role in the region. “The will of the Iranian people has made the US inactive in regional and Iranian internal politics,” he said.

Haji Babaei said that America’s war, peace and dialogue are all guided by strategic objectives, so Iran can never reach an agreement with the US.

“The Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important energy supplies route, gives Iran great strategic power,” he said.

Meanwhile, referring to the recent attacks on Iranian ships in the Caspian Sea, he warned Ukraine that Iran would retaliate strongly if such actions were repeated.
