Today is the last day to give suggestions on the draft amendment to the Health Care Protection Act.

Kathmandu. The Ministry of Health and Food and Hygiene has said that the deadline for seeking feedback from the general public on the draft of the bill designed to amend the ‘Act Related to Security of Health Workers and Health Institutions-2066’, will end today.

The ministry had made public the draft on July 21, giving seven days’ time. Provision has been made for the interested individuals and stakeholders to send their opinions and suggestions through email from the legal section of the Ministry.

The proposed amendment bill would further strengthen the legal provisions against violence against health workers, include health students in the purview of the Act’s protection, include the display of criminal force with arms as a prohibited act and empower the Ministry to formulate necessary directives, procedures and standards.

The Ministry has said that it is preparing to forward the bill by making necessary revisions after studying the suggestions received.
