Minister Shrestha rushed to the incident site

Kathmandu. Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Biraj Bhakta Shrestha has expressed serious concern over the incident and started coordinating with the concerned bodies to resolve the blaze that occurred at Thapathali area on Tuesday night.

Minister Shrestha reached the incident site early Wednesday morning and inspected the fire site in view of the possible risk to life and property of the locals. During the inspection, he said that there should not be any delay in resolving the problem as such haphazard wires can cause a big accident at any time.

Necessary coordination has been started among Nepal Telecommunication Authority, Nepal Electricity Authority, Telecommunication Service Providers, Internet Service Providers, Kathmandu Metropolitan City and other concerned bodies at the initiation of Minister Shrestha. He also directed the concerned bodies to immediately manage the wires at risk and implement a long-term systematic wire management action plan.

Stating that the security of the citizens was the top priority of the government, Minister Shrestha stressed the need for effective collaboration among all stakeholders for permanently resolving such problems. He also made it clear that the campaign to systematize the wires that have been in place in different areas of the capital for years would be intensified.

The locals have also demanded the authorities concerned to effectively forward the task of managing the wires in Thapathali and other areas of the capital.
