Ex-King Gyanendra urges to maintain social harmony

. KATHMANDU: Former King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev has called on all Nepalis to maintain social harmony, religious tolerance and national unity in the country.

In a goodwill message today, he said Nepal is a country with multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-religious and multi-cultural characteristics.TAG_OPEN_div_14 He also called upon all sides to be responsible not to allow this unique identity and pride of the Nepali society to be weakened for any reason.

Former King Gyanendra has expressed sorrow over the loss of life and property due to the internal conflict and dispute that took place in some settlements of Sunsari district some days ago and the impact of this conflict has spread to different parts of Koshi region and Tarai.TAG_OPEN_div_12

Stating that Nepal is known as a country of harmony among different communities, he said such untoward incidents and accidents are worrisome.TAG_OPEN_div_10 “Such activities are against the fundamental norms and values of the Nepali society,” he said.

In the message, PM Oli has called on all Nepalis living in any part of the country to maintain mutual harmony, reconciliation and unity while adding that this was the need of the hour.TAG_OPEN_div_8
