400 KV Bajhang-Banlekh transmission line to be constructed

. The Bajhang-Banlek (West Seti) transmission line is to be constructed to supply electricity worth 2,500 megawatts. Necessary process has already been initiated for the construction of the project with a total capacity of 400 KV.

The 6 TAG_OPEN_div_26 0-kilometer-long transmission line will connect the proposed Chainpur substation in Jaya Prithvi Municipality-1 of Bajhang district to the proposed Banalek (West Seti) in Shikhar Municipality-10 of Doti.

The National Transmission Grid Company Limited has applied to the Department of Electricity Development for the construction of the transmission line.TAG_OPEN_div_24 According to Section (4) of the Electricity Act, 1992, an application has to be made for the permit by disclosing the details.

Under this project, a 400/132 kV 160 MVA Chainpur substation will be constructed.TAG_OPEN_div_22 Likewise, under the construction of 400/132 kV and 315 MVA Banalek substation, Paschim Seti substation will be constructed.

The length of the transmission line TAG_OPEN_div_20 will be 60 kilometers. A total of 143 double circuit towers will be constructed in the area. The maximum height of the tower will be 61 meters and the average distance between towers will be 408.99 meters and the minimum distance will be up to 127.79 meters.

A total of 29 TAG_OPEN_div_18 5.42 hectares of land would be required for the construction of the transmission line. Of this area, 30.41 hectares of land is required for the construction of the tower.

265 hectares of land is required under the jurisdiction of the electric road. Out of 21.41 hectares land required for the construction of the substation, seven hectares is required for the construction of Ban Lake substation and 14.37 hectares for the construction of Chainpur substation. The transmission line will have a length of 46 meters.

The target is to complete the construction of the transmission line within the next five years.TAG_OPEN_div_14 The transmission line shall be constructed in such a way that there is no significant adverse impact on the environment due to soil erosion, flood, air pollution etc. while constructing and operating the transmission line. The Department of Electricity Development has requested the government to provide necessary suggestions and suggestions regarding the project.
