Kathmandu. Lord Buddha Education Foundation (LBEF), the first IT college in Nepal, has launched MBA in AI and Digital Leadership courses. Keeping in mind the rapid development of artificial intelligence, AI and information technology and the demand of the market, the foundation has introduced the new curriculum.

The ‘MBA in AI’ and ‘Digital Leadership’ program with equivalency from Tribhuvan University has been started by the foundation with approval from the Ministry of Education in the affiliation of Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation. Pankaj Jalan informed. The foundation has partnered with DLA Consulting for its MBA in AI and Digital Leadership programs.

Speaking at the launch of the course, Chairman of the Foundation, Engineer Jalan, said that AI is not only the technology of the future but has become essential in banking, business, management, data analysis, report generation, and daily office work.

He said, “Until a few years ago, AI is now doing what humans used to do in a few minutes. With this change, AI is being developed in Nepal not just as a tool technology, but also by connecting it with education, business, and management.

According to President Jalan, the purpose of this program is not only to give students the technical knowledge to make AI software or tools, but also to teach them how to use the AI tools available in the market in real life and business.

On the occasion, Executive Director of the Foundation, Prakash Kejriwal, presented a working paper on the development of information technology and the present and future of AI.

LordBuddha is also preparing to set up a physical AI server lab. The foundation has also said that preparations are also being made to bring AI servers to Nepal from abroad. For Lord Buddha, AI labs are not just a server or a new device to be placed in a room, but will also become a mainstay for putting AI education into practice.

According to the foundation, the students will be given the opportunity to practice directly at a low cost by setting up a physical lab. With the ability to use, test and learn AI on their own servers, students will not be limited to books or videos, but will have the opportunity to understand the technology firsthand. Students will also get access to 11 international online labs, research papers, journals, and books.

Speaking on the occasion, Suman Neupane, Founding President of DLA Consulting, said that AI is not only a part of information technology but has become an integral part of strategic decision-making of every organization.

“By bringing the international curriculum on AI to Kathmandu, we are not only adding another academic degree, but also laying a new foundation for building the future business leadership in Nepal.” Neupane said that information technology has become the most important part of the economic development of Nepal.
