Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Gauri Kumari Yadav, inaugurated the food outlet of Food Management and Trade Company Limited at Singha Durbar today.

Arrangements have been made for consumers to buy daily essentials at affordable prices from the sales outlet located between the Ministry of Industry and the Home Ministry at Singha Durbar.

A total of 124 types of food and daily consumables are available in the sales hall brought into operation on the occasion of the anniversary of the Food Management and Trading Company Limited.

The sales desk has been brought into operation with the objective of reducing the abnormal increase in the price of food items in the market and the financial burden on the consumers. The government-owned company aims to provide essential food items to consumers at easy and affordable prices.

Inaugurating the outlet, Minister Yadav stressed on the need of carrying out works by prioritizing the issue of providing food items to the consumers at easy, quality and affordable price.

It is expected that the employees, service recipients and consumers coming to the ministry will be able to purchase food items in a smooth manner after such sales outlet comes into operation at the centre of Singha Durbar.

It is believed that this outlet operated by the government agency will also make the government’s efforts to control prices in the market and provide relief to the consumers more effective.
