Kathmandu. From the profit of the last fiscal year, the ability of commercial banks to pay dividends to their investors has increased. The dividend capacity of the 20 commercial banks operating from the profit of the last fiscal year was 10.73 percent.
The capacity of the banks has increased by 1.48 percent compared to the previous year. Last year, the dividend rate was 9.24 percent.
During this period, the dividend potential of four banks was zero. KATHMANDU: Nepal Investment Mega, NIC Asia Bank, Prabhu Bank and Himalayan Bank Ltd (HBL) have reported that they have zero dividend to their investors from the profit of the last fiscal year.
According to the data released by the banks till the last fiscal year, Everest Bank is the largest commercial bank with the capacity to distribute the highest dividend. The bank has the capacity to distribute 38.32 percent dividend to the investors from its profit.
Similarly, Siddhartha Bank is the second bank with the highest dividend potential. The bank has the capacity to distribute 26.15 percent dividend to the investors from its profit.
Similarly, Sanima Bank will get 20.15 percent dividend, Nabil Bank 19.10 percent, Standard Chartered Bank 19.04 percent, Nepal Bank 15.84 percent, Global IME Bank 12.02 percent and Nepal SBI Bank 11.04 percent.
Similarly, Prime Commercial Bank has 9.10 percent, NMB Bank 9.08 percent, Machhapuchchhre Bank 7.51 percent, Rastriya Banijya Bank 6.89 percent, Laxmi Sunrise Bank 6.79 percent, Agricultural Development Bank 6.84 percent, Citizen Bank 3.37 percent and Kumari Bank 3.02 percent.
