Landslides obstruct various roads, some roads halted for vehicular movement at night

. Vehicular movement has been restricted at night on some sections of the country while roads have been disrupted due to incessant rainfall.

According to police, different roads in Kavrepalanchowk, Sindhupalchowk, Rasuwa, Rukum West, Lamjung, Ilam, Nuwakot, Rolpa, Palpa and Makwanpur districts have been affected.TAG_OPEN_div_39

The Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunjebesi road section of Kavrepalanchowk has been closed for vehicular movement from 18:00 pm to 4:00 am in view of the possible flood risk.TAG_OPEN_div_37 Vehicles will be allowed to ply from 4 am to 18 pm.

All vehicular movement along the Kanti Highway in Makwanpur district has been banned from 17:00 pm to 5:00 am due to rain.TAG_OPEN_div_35

The movement of private and public vehicles along the Tokha-Chhahare road section of Nuwakot district has been closed from 22:00 am to 5:00 am.TAG_OPEN_div_33

No vehicles will be allowed on the said road until further notice. The Mechi highway has been completely obstructed due to the accumulation of mud at Rajduwali of Ilam municipality-9. There is an alternative route at the site.

The highway has been completely obstructed after a landslide occurred on the Araniko Highway at Kodari of Bhotekoshi rural municipality-2 in Sindhupalchowk district and the road collapsed at Liping of ward no. 2 of the same rural municipality.TAG_OPEN_div_29

The Trishuli-Mailung-Syafrubesi road section at Khalte of Uttargaya rural municipality-5 in Rasuwa district has been completely disrupted after the Trishuli river eroded it.TAG_OPEN_div_27 Similarly, the Pasang Lhamu road section has been completely obstructed due to the landslide at Syau parking of Gosaikunda rural municipality-2.

Similarly, the Martyrs Highway has been completely obstructed due to a landslide at Ladre of Thawang rural municipality-2 in Rolpa.TAG_OPEN_div_23 The landslide occurred at Ladre this morning.

The Nepal Police Headquarters has urged the concerned bodies to travel with caution and use alternative routes as there is a risk of landslide and flood in the areas where the road has been disrupted.TAG_OPEN_div_21
