Kathmandu. Minister for Agriculture, Forest and Environment Gita Chaudhary has expressed commitment to make public the report of Lal Commission related to Tikapur incident.
Speaking at a programme organized by the Tharu Welfare Assembly here today, Minister Chaudhary stressed the need to make the Tikapur incident public and seek a solution to the incident in a just manner.
The Tharu Welfare Assembly has been organizing various programs on August 7 every year as Tikapur Rebellion Day. This year too, an interaction program was organized on the theme of ‘Tikapur rebellion, demands of the movement and the way forward’ and ‘Common question of Tharu community and need for amendment in the content of the constitution’.
On the occasion, Minister Chaudhary said that she has been raising the demands and issues of the Tharu community while sitting in the government and expressed commitment that she would continue to raise voice for the rights, identity and justice of the Tharu community.
She said that the government would take initiative to make public the report of Lal Commission related to Tikapur incident and that the government was serious to address the genuine demands of the Tharu community.
