U.S. imposes sanctions on Iran over 60 entities, individuals and ships

Kathmandu. The United States has imposed sanctions on about 60 entities, individuals and ships linked to Iran’s military activities, procurement networks and oil and petrochemical trade. The U.S. State Department said the sanctions were aimed at cutting off the regime’s sources of revenue and weakening the network that supports attacks on U.S. forces and allies.

The sanctions under “Operation TAG_OPEN_div_22 Economic Outcast” target Iran’s petroleum revenues and activities related to the proliferation of conventional weapons, the ministry said. The ban was imposed under Executive Orders 13846 and 13949.
