Bhotekoshi River flooded due to avalanche along Nepal-China border

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has concluded that an avalanche along the Nepal-China border has caused mudslides in the Lhende River.

Chief Executive Officer of the National Disaster Risk Mitigation and Management Authority (NDRRMA), Dr Dharma Raj Uprety said the landslide occurred some 20 kilometers north-east of Rasuwagadhi border along the Nepal-China border.

“Based on the preliminary analysis of satellite imagery, an avalanche with rocks has occurred some 20 kilometers northeast of Rasuwagadhi border point along the Nepal-China border. As a result, the Lhende River has been flooded with mudslides and entered the Trishuli River via Timure,” said Upreti.
