Chinese President Xi Urges Rescue Efforts in Bhotekoshi River

Kathmandu. Chinese President Xi Jinping has urged people to get involved in the rescue operation after the floods caused huge damage in the Bhotokoshi river in Rasuwa district.

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang have issued directives for disaster rescue, relief and risk mitigation.

President and General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Xi Jinping issued the directive, Xinhua news agency reported.

“Chinese President Xi Jinping has directed full efforts to carry out search and rescue operations for those missing in the Girong border point in China’s southwest Xizang (Tibet) Autonomous Region after a landslide on the Nepal side caused human casualties,” the report said.

He also directed the authorities concerned to immediately relocate and rehabilitate the missing people after searching for them.

He also directed to carry out rescue operation in a scientific manner.

At the same time, Chinese Premier Li Qiang has ordered to determine the number of people missing after the floods.

He also directed to mobilize the required human resources for rescue and relief work.

He also directed the Chinese Foreign Ministry to maintain communication and coordination with Nepal.
