KATHMANDU: Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dol Prasad Aryal, has expressed sorrow over the loss of life and property due to the devastating floods in Bhotekoshi of Rasuwa this morning and drew the attention of the government to make necessary coordination for the rescue and treatment of the injured, search for the disappeared and relief to the victims and displaced people.

In today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, Speaker Aryal directed all the state mechanisms to make rescue, relief and assistance to the affected citizens effective during the time of disaster. He also called on the private sector, non-government bodies and civil society for necessary support and coordination in disaster management.

On the occasion, the Speaker said all programmes from today’s schedule have been removed in view of the grave situation of the disaster.

The House of Representatives will next meet at 1 pm on August 24.
