Kathmandu. The floods that occurred in Rasuwa district on Wednesday have damaged the power houses and transmission structures of the Nepal Electricity Authority. According to NEA, power supply has been affected in Rasuwa and surrounding areas due to floods.
According to NEA, the floods have caused damages to Rasuwagadhi, Chilime, Trishuli-3 ‘A’ Hydropower Station and 220 KV Substation of Trishuli-3 ‘B’ Hub. Similarly, Trishuli and Devighat hydropower stations and various distribution facilities have also been affected by the floods.
The NEA said power supply has been disrupted in some areas after the structures related to generation, transmission and distribution were damaged. NEA has urged the consumers to be patient until the supply is regularized, saying it is making every possible effort to regularize the power supply.
According to the NEA, the floods have caused significant damage to physical infrastructure including houses, roads and bridges along with electricity infrastructure. Details of the damage are being collected.
The NRA has urged all bodies concerned to be immediately and effectively mobilized for rescue, relief and rehabilitation in the affected areas.
The NRA has urged the people living near rivers, rivulets, coastal areas and vulnerable areas to adopt high alertness as risk of flood still remains. Also, one and all not to believe in unconfirmed news and rumors other than official information.
