KATHMANDU: The government has decided to increase allowances and daily lunch allowances to encourage security personnel who are involved in rescue and relief work risking their lives during natural disasters like floods, landslides and fires.

A meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) on Thursday decided to revise the facilities and facilities for the human resources of the security agencies.

The government has taken this step in recognition of the tremendous contribution of the human resources of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army who are on the front line putting their lives at risk during the time of disaster.

The government has modified this facility as it is imperative for the frontline teams to feel respected and encouraged by the state to make the disaster management more effective, speedy and result-oriented.

Based on this decision of the executive committee meeting of the NRA, the concerned security agencies will have to write to the concerned ministry and the concerned ministries will take a decision in this regard.
