Bhotekoshi floods: Nepal Telecom transports equipment to 4 different districts

Kathmandu. The floods and landslides that occurred at Bhetekoshi of Rasuwa district on Wednesday have damaged human and physical infrastructures and affected the telecommunication services in Rasuwa, Dhading, Nuwakot and Chitwan districts.

Nepal Telecom (NTC) is carrying out maintenance and maintenance works to resume service at various places.

In order to operate the service in different places of Rasuwa district, Nepal Telecom has sent generators and batteries from helicopter to Neupanechaur and Ramche Repeater site and services have been resumed in Neupanechaur and Ramche surrounding areas including Kespang (Kaule), Thulegaon, Tadi, Fikuri, Kalikasthan, Grang, Dandagaun, Mailung, Pangsang Danda, Langtang, Kyangjin and other areas. Generators, fuel and employees have been mobilized to operate the service in Dhunche.

The service is being resumed at Madanpur, Battar, Bidur Bus Park in Nuwakot district and Baireni Thamel hill in Dhading district by mobilizing generators and fuel staff. Generators, fuel and employees have been mobilized to bring the main priority sites in the affected areas into operation uninterruptedly.

In addition, the coverage and capacity of other BTSs in the aforementioned districts are being developed and optimized to operate the service effectively.

According to this, 3 out of 5 sites in Chitwan, 13 out of 36 sites in Dhading, 31 out of 79 sites in Nuwakot and 13 out of 32 sites in Rasuwa are yet to come into operation. Necessary work is being done to bring the remaining sites into operation.

In order to facilitate the communication needs of the citizens in this situation of disaster, Nepal Telecom has given high priority to service continuity, early warning and awareness, and necessary technical works. The company believes that this will help all the service recipients to maintain communication with their relatives.
