KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balendra Shah has left for Bidur of Nuwakot this morning for an on-site inspection.
Prime Minister Shah is accompanied by Minister for Infrastructure Development Sunil Lamsal.
They left for Bidur, one of the major flood-affected areas, by road at 9:30 am today.
Prime Minister Shah has been actively involved in effective rescue and relief operations even after the floods in the Bhotekoshi river of Rasuwa on Thursday caused damage to the riverbanks
.
Immediately after the floods, he called high-level meetings and gave necessary instructions to the subordinate bodies for rescue and relief and continued to facilitate them.
Although many places have been damaged due to floods, Prime Minister Shah inspected the affected settlements in and around Bidur of Nuwakot district today.
During the visit, the Prime Minister and the team of Infrastructure Ministers will take first-hand information about the physical damage caused by the floods and will hold discussions with the local administration, security agencies and people’s representatives regarding relief, rehabilitation and operation of the damaged infrastructure. They are also scheduled to give necessary instructions to expedite the relief and reconstruction of infrastructure in all the affected areas.
