Kathmandu. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Himalayan Reinsurance Company, Upasana Poudel, has been arrested.

He was arrested by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) from Babarmahal today.

According to the CIB, the arrestees were made on the charge of the Insurance Act as per the inspection report carried out by the Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) at the Trust Insurance Broker.

It is said that he was involved in the crime as per clauses (g) and (i) of Section 140 of the Insurance Act, 2079. Poudel, 39, who is currently the CEO of Reinsurance Municipality Ward No. 3 of Kathmandu district, has been arrested by the Kathmandu District Court and further investigation is underway.
