Rasuwa floods: 5 in Bir, 18 injured receiving treatment at Trauma Center

Kathmandu. Among those injured in Wednesday’s floods in Rasuwa and rescued to Kathmandu, 23 are undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital and National Trauma Center.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Dan Bahadur Thapa of the District Police Range, 18 of the injured are undergoing treatment at the National Trauma Center and five at Bir Hospital. The condition of all the injured is said to be normal.TAG_OPEN_div_34

Along with the treatment of the injured who were rescued from the flood-affected areas and brought to Kathmandu, the search for their relatives and their condition is also going on. The relatives of the injured are reaching the treatment hospital and inquiring about the condition of their family members. During this time, there is a crowd of relatives at Bir Hospital and National Trauma Center.

Police said that people are coming to the help desk to get information about the condition of the injured and to note down the details of the relatives who are out of contact.

According to the Citizen Help Desk at Bir Hospital, 38-year-old Birajman Tamang of Rasuwa-1 is preparing to be discharged today after his health condition improved. His condition is said to be normal at present.TAG_OPEN_div_28

Similarly, the identity of an 80-year-old woman who is undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital is yet to be ascertained. Police said that she does not have any documents or other details to disclose her identity and her relatives have not come in contact yet. Police have asked her relatives or acquaintances to contact the concerned help desk and provide the necessary information.TAG_OPEN_div_26

The injured have sustained injuries on their limbs, head and other body parts. Some of the injured have suffered minor to moderate injuries and are being treated under the direct supervision of doctors and health workers, according to the hospital.

{{TAG_OPEN_div_22} The flood in the Bhotekoshi area of Rasuwa on Wednesday morning caused a lot of damage. Rescue and search operations have been intensified in the flood-affected areas. The injured are being brought to Kathmandu for treatment, police said.

According to the police, the work of collecting details about the identity and condition of the people rescued from the flood-affected areas is underway. Arrangements have been made for the relatives of the rescued people and those brought to Kathmandu for treatment to get information through the citizen help desk set up at the concerned hospital.

Police have urged the people to believe only the information received from the official bodies and not to follow unconfirmed information and rumors during the disaster. Search, rescue and relief work has been continued in the flood-affected areas and necessary coordination is being made for the treatment of the injured, according to the concerned authorities.
