Search intensifies for dead bodies in Trishuli and Narayani rivers

Chitwan. The search for bodies has been started in the Trishuli and Narayani rivers flowing through Chitwan district since this morning. As of 11 am, 69 bodies have been recovered.

According to Superintendent of Police Rameshwor Poudel of District Police Office, Chitwan, the dead bodies of 19 men, 15 women, four boys and two girls were recovered from the river.TAG_OPEN_div_22

A total of 333 Nepal Army, 250 Nepal Police and 150 Armed Police Force personnel have been mobilized to search for the body, said Chief District Officer Ganesh Aryal. CDO Aryal informed that an environment-friendly place is being made for the keeping of the dead body at the Industrial Development Academy, which is adjacent to the Industry Association of Chitwan. The picture of the dead body will be kept in the place and the picture of the concerned body will be shown on the monitor outside. The body is being codified by taking pictures of the bodies found closely. After the identification of those who came in search of the body, the body will be handed over to the concerned after completing the necessary procedures.

The Nepal Red Cross Society has handed over 95 bags to the security agencies to keep the dead body. The Red Cross has also provided tarpaulins and stretchers required for the dead body. During the meeting, the Hoteliers Association of Chitwan said that arrangements for free food and accommodation would be made for those who come to search for the missing relatives.
