Kathmandu. The death toll in Rasuwa floods has reached 469 as of this morning. According to Nepal Police, so far 12 dead bodies have been recovered in Rasuwa, 37 in Nuwakot, 33 in Dhading, 44 in Gorkha, 28 in Tanahun, 178 in Chitwan, 110 in Nawalparasi East and 27 in Nawalparasi West.

According to the police, the exhumation of the bodies has started in Chitwan since this morning and search for the bodies of the missing will be carried out in Rasuwa from today itself. So far, 1,545 people have been rescued including 644 in Rasuwa, 898 in Nuwakot and three in Dhading, said Nepal Police Spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General of Police, Abi Narayan Kafle.

Currently, 60 injured people are being treated at various hospitals in Kathmandu Valley. A total of 31 people are being treated at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, 20 at the Trauma Centre, two at Bir Hospital, one at Birendra Sainik Hospital, one at Norvic Hospital, two at Manmohan Hospital, two at B&B Hospital and one at Grande Hospital.

So far, 44 employees of the Nepal Army, 28 of Nepal Police, 13 of the Armed Police Force of Nepal, 15 of the Customs Office of Timure and four of the Immigration Office of Timure are out of contact due to the floods. According to the police, 2,381 people including the general public are out of contact due to the floods. Of them, 644 foreign nationals, including 178 from India, are out of contact. Similarly, 127 Nepalis who have been visiting Nepal abroad are also out of contact.

Likewise, 65 are in the US, 53 in Ukraine, 51 in Malaysia, 35 in Australia, 33 in the UK, 25 in Canada, nine in Singapore, eight in Germany, eight in Russia, six in South Africa, six in Latvia, five in Japan, five in New Zealand, four in France, three in Belgium and three in Spain.

Two nationals ÷each from Kazakhstan, Portugal, Ireland, Italy and the Netherlands, and one each from Sweden, Hungary, Serbia, Switzerland, Israel, the Philippines, Finland, Belarus, Lithuania and Bul÷garia are also out of contact, police said.

According to police, 1,737 people (except Rasuwa) have gone out of contact with Nepalis of Koshi State, 128 of Madhes Province, 826 of Bagmati Province, 126 of Gandaki Province, 188 of Lumbini Province, 208 of Karnali Province and 129 of Sudurpaschim Province.
