Kathmandu. The government has released Rs 7.75 crore for the areas affected by the floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on the morning of August 26.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has released Rs 6.75 crore to the 15 flood-affected local levels till Friday. According to the NRA, this amount will be distributed to the affected local levels as per the need.

The 35th meeting of the Executive Committee of the NRA held on Thursday had decided to release the amount from the amount in the NRA fund. According to the NRA, the amount will be categorized as highly affected, affected and generally affected local and will provide grant assistance accordingly.

According to the NRA, the assistance will be distributed on the basis of the losses suffered in Uttargaya, Gosainkunda, Kalika and Amachoding rural municipalities of Rasuwa, Bidur and Belkot municipalities of Nuwakot, Tarkeshwor and Kispang rural municipalities, Benighat Rorang, Gajuri, Galchhi and Siddhalekh rural municipalities of Dhading, Gandaki Rural Municipality of Gorkha and Devghat and Abukhaireni of Tanahun.

The NRA meeting had decided to provide relief amount to the local levels mentioned from the Central Disaster Management Fund through the District Disaster Management Committee as per the Disaster Management Fund Operation Work Procedure, 2079 and the Ministry of Finance would provide the same amount to the Disaster Management Fund.
