KATHMANDU: As many as 2,715 people have been rescued from Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading districts of Rasuwa district so far.

According to Nepal Police Spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General of Police, Abi Narayan Kafle, some of the injured have been brought to Kathmandu for treatment. He said that so far 160 people are being treated in different hospitals in Kathmandu and have been discharged after treatment.

Some employees of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force have also gone out of contact after the floods. Among those who have gone missing are 44 from the Nepal Army, 27 from the Nepal Police and 13 from the Armed Police Force, said Deputy Inspector General of Police, Avi Narayan Kafle.

Police have intensified the search and rescue operation of those who have gone missing in the flood-affected areas. Security personnel and rescue teams from Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and other concerned bodies have continued their search and rescue operations in the potentially vulnerable areas. Police have said that the search and rescue of the missing people has been given priority along with the collection of details of human and physical damage in the flood-affected areas.

Meanwhile, the bodies of 768 people have been recovered from different districts till 2 pm today, according to Nepal Police. According to the Police Headquarters, Naxal, 13 bodies were recovered in Rasuwa, 50 in Dhading, 37 in Tanahun, 52 in Nuwakot, 58 in Gorkha, 264 in Chitwan, 194 in Nawalparasi East and 100 in Nawalparasi West.
