Bhotekoshi floods: 1,321 out of contact from Nuwakot and Rasuwa

Nuwakot. So far, 1,321 people from Nuwakot and Rasuwa areas have gone missing due to the Bhotekoshi floods.

Of the rescued, 2,225 are Nepalis and 231 are foreigners. A total of 84 people, including security personnel and employees of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), are working in the Upper Trishuli 3 ‘A’ for search and rescue, said Chief District Officer Regmi. CDO Regmi said that the work is going on to reopen the roads in this area which were blocked due to floods. Similarly, dozers have been deployed to clear the blocked road in Dhunge Bazaar area. Tuin installation has been started to connect Dhunge and Trishuli bazaar for the time being. “Logtha has already arrived for the installation of tuin,” said CDO Regmi, adding, “Efforts are being made to use an alternative route to cross the river even if it is from Tuin immediately.”TAG_OPEN_div_20 ”

A one-door system has been adopted for the distribution of relief materials to the flood-affected people. CDO Regmi said that 140 organizations have provided relief materials so far. According to him, the relief materials received are being collected in the godown hall and transported to the holding center by vehicle and helicopter on the basis of need.
