Kathmandu. Prabhu Bank Limited has provided financial assistance of Rs 2,11,11,111 for the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of the people affected by the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa.

The sudden flood in the Bhotekoshi River, which flows through Rasuwa on the morning of August 10, caused a huge human and physical loss to the settlements on the banks of the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers. The bank has donated the amount to the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund of the Government of Nepal to support the search, rescue and relief work of the families affected by the disaster.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Prabhu Bank, Suman Sharma, handed over the cheque of Rs 2,11,11,111 to Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle amidst a programme held at the Ministry of Finance on September 31.

Chairman of the Bank Kishor Jung Karki, Director Raju Poudel and Director Dr. Ambika Sharma Lamichhane were also present on the occasion.

The bank said that the assistance has been provided to the communities affected by the disaster as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility. It also paid tribute to the domestic and foreign nationals who lost their lives due to the floods and wished for the speedy rescue and treatment of the incommunicado and injured.
