Bhotekoshi floods: Debt restructuring for payment of principal and interest of loans to affected borrowers, facility to postpone payment, what happened in CSR?

{{TAG_OPEN_span_14} Kathmandu. After the Bhotekoshi floods, the Ministry of Finance has directed the Nepal Rastra Bank to carry out 6 works for loan and interest subsidy.

According to the decision of the Cabinet meeting held today, the Ministry has directed the Nepal Rastra Bank to carry out 6 works.

In which the directive has been directed to determine the damage of the goods imported from Rasuwa Customs and to provide facility to restructure the loan on the basis of the nature of the business and goods, damage, insurance claims, etc., and to postpone the payment of principal and interest on the basis of the nature of the business and goods, damage, insurance claims, etc.

Likewise, the government has also directed the banks and financial institutions to provide facility for loan restructuring/rescheduling and postponement of payment of principal and interest to the borrowers affected by the floods.

Likewise, if the bank wants to purchase such vehicles or transport vehicles and equipment for business continuity by evaluating the damage caused by the floods and the insurance payment, the bank will be directed to provide loan by adding the minimum premium rate fixed to the base rate and review the loan price ratio fixed on such loan.

Likewise, the government has also directed all types of borrowers to pay a premium rate of 0.5 percentage points on the base rate of the bank for one year or the interest rate whichever is lower when the existing premium rate is added.

Likewise, for the revival of industry or business or for the security of employment, the bank has been directed to make arrangements to provide additional loan to the borrower in such a way that it can be paid directly to the account of the third party concerned.

Similarly, if any body contributes money to the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund in the fiscal year 2083/84 from the fund established for the purpose of fulfilling Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the concerned body has been directed to make arrangements to amend the related acts/rules and directives to define the contribution amount as the expenditure incurred as corporate social responsibility expenditure of that body.
