Kathmandu. The tunnel (cable duct tunnel) of the Trishuli-3A Hydropower Project in Nuwakot, which was affected by the flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa, is being opened.

A 93-member team led by the Nepal Army, including a Chinese team and other technicians, has been carrying out search and rescue operations along with five excavators, compressors and brakes.

At the mouth of the tunnel, there are 40 meters long and 20 meter high iron structures and large stones (debris). After continuous efforts day and night, the mouth of the tunnel has been opened by about 3 feet from the top.

With this, the rescue team has reached 15-20 meters inside it and the work of removing the remaining debris is going on as the mouth has to be fully opened to enter with the excavator and machine. Preparations are being made for blasting 7 more boulders (big boulders).

This tunnel is about 170 meters long. Only after crossing the tunnel filled with mud and mud, one can reach the powerhouse and other structures.
