Kathmandu. The supply of LP gas has not been stopped in Kathmandu even after the road was blocked due to a landslide on the Krishnabhir section of the Prithvi Highway. Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has made arrangements to bring gas from various industries in the Terai to Kathmandu using alternative route.
According to the NOC, 24,494 cylinders were brought to Kathmandu on September 3, 34,134 cylinders on September 3 and 29,249 cylinders on September 4.
The NOC has made arrangements to bring gas cylinders based in Kathmandu, Dhading and Kavrepalanchowk to the factories in Bara, Parsa, Makwanpur, Chitwan, Nawalparasi, Dhanusha and Mahottari after the disruption of the road section.
The highest number of gas was brought to Kathmandu on September 3. On that day alone, 34,134 cylinders were brought.
According to the NOC, the arrangement of bringing LP gas through this alternative process will continue until the road along the Krishnabhir section is brought into operation regularly.
The NOC has been managing the supply by using the Terai industries and alternative roads to avoid the disruption of gas supply to Kathmandu.
