Kathmandu. Arrangements have been made to send relief materials to the affected people in coordination with the Nepal Army and Armed Police Force after receiving details of the damage caused by floods and landslides in Chumnubri Rural Municipality-4 of Gorkha district.
Houses and hotels have been damaged due to floods and landslides in Charang Lake and Charang River in Namrung. According to preliminary information, two houses of Lakpa Buti and three houses of Tshering Wangdi have been damaged in the Charang Lake area, while Urgen Chetan Hotel and Nurbu Wangal Hotel have been completely damaged.
Similarly, the flood in the Charang River has completely washed away the Jagat Hotel near the Budhigandaki bridge and the Jolunge bridge. The house of Chhewang Dorje is also in a very dangerous condition.
The trekking route on the Manaslu trekking route has also been closed after the bridge over the Budhigandaki River was completely damaged. The power supply in Namrung area has been completely disrupted due to floods and landslides and both government and private power systems have been damaged.
Although initial reports that Yudon Gyalten and Dawa Tashi are out of contact in Charang Lake, they have been contacted and both are safe. No human casualties have been reported so far.
According to preliminary information, 6 houses have been affected and damaged due to floods and river erosion in the Charang Khola area alone. Details of further damage in the affected areas are being collected.
