Track opened at Krishnabhir to be widened

Chitwan. The track opened to transport construction materials and equipment from the area above Krishna Bhir under the Prithvi Highway has been widened.

{{TAG_OPEN_div_22} The track has been opened by cutting trees and chopping bushes in the upper part of the road as a preparation to resume the road which has been obstructed due to landslides.

According to Sachendra Mishra, engineer of the western section of the Naubise-Muglin Road Project, a track of about TAG_OPEN_div_20 four meters wide has been opened on both sides of the hill after continuous work from the landslide site. He said, “The work of widening the track that was opened yesterday has started. A lot of work is still to be done to cut the wall upwards, widen the road, gravel, adjust grading and manage the landslide as per the design.” He said that it will take more time for the vehicles to ply.

He said that the work has been expedited so that the public vehicles can be operated by the end of August. He said, “Now the environment has been created to work according to the design. There is no shortage of technical materials and manpower required for the construction. Now the road will be constructed according to the design and it has become easier to work.” According to Mishra, the newly opened track is mainly used for the transportation of construction workers and construction materials.TAG_OPEN_div_18

The construction company Sharma-ZIV JV has opened the new road. According to the company’s site manager Engineer Ishwar Nepal, the track is about 20 meters high and 350 meters long from the main road. He said, “After the opening of the track, it has become easier to transport construction materials, fuel and workers. Now this track is being used only for construction purposes. The new road has not been opened for the public.TAG_OPEN_div_16 ”

According to him, there is still a lot of work to be done like slope cutting, cutting the wall, piling stones, grading and other works. He said that in case of emergency, the general public can also cross on foot. He said that now the construction work of the road will be started according to the design from both sides.TAG_OPEN_div_14

Heavy equipment has been added from today. Two excavators have been added to seven. One JCB, loader and two bulldozers have been deployed. He said that equipment will be added as per the requirement.TAG_OPEN_div_12
