Air transport fee waived off for flood victims

KATHMANDU: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has decided to provide special concession in air transportation of relief materials to the people affected by the recent floods and natural disasters.

As part of its corporate social responsibility, the corporation has decided to waive all transportation charges for the relief materials sent from international stations for the flood victims for a month.

According to the corporation, the fees will be waived while transporting foodstuffs, medicines, clothes and other necessary relief materials to be sent to the flood victims on the basis of the official letter of the Embassy in coordination with the concerned embassy.

The NAC has expressed the belief that this decision made to make the humanitarian assistance easy and effective during the time of disaster will help in the delivery of relief materials sent to Nepal from different countries and organizations to the affected communities at a faster pace.
