Kathmandu. So far, 1,367 bodies have been recovered from the Rasuwa floods.

Shanti Mahat, spokesperson of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), said that 5,132 people who went missing after the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli floods are still out of contact.

According to the NRA, 174 bodies were found in Rasuwa, 197 in Nuwakot, 70 in Dhading, 75 in Gorkha, 38 in Tanahun, 226 in Nawalparasi East, 222 in Nawalparasi West and 363 in Chitwan. Of them, 102 bodies have been identified and received by their relatives so far.

A total of 45 Nepal Army personnel, 25 Nepal Police personnel, 12 Armed Police Force personnel and 73 government employees are still missing in the floods.

Similarly, 26 employees of banks and financial institutions and about 589 foreign tourists are out of contact. The security forces are intensifying the search and rescue operation of the contactless people.

So far, 13,646 people have been rescued from the search and rescue operation conducted in the flood-affected areas. Of the rescued, 3,628 people are taking shelter in holding centers at different places.

According to the NRA, health care services have been provided to 7,151 people injured and affected by the floods. Various agencies of the state are carrying out search, rescue, relief and management to meet the basic needs of the people displaced and affected by the floods.

Security agencies, local levels and various government and non-governmental organizations are continuously active in this work. The government has given priority to search, rescue, relief and other management after the floods caused huge loss of life and property.
