Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has said that the government is going to implement five special packages to make the economy dynamic.

At the 28th annual general meeting of Society of Economic Journalists Nepal (SEJON) here today, Minister Khatiwada said that five packages have been forwarded for the improvement of economy.

The Finance Minister said that necessary works are being done for the recovery and rehabilitation of the damage caused by the Bhotekoshi floods under the first package. He said that a study has been conducted for relief and rehabilitation of the industrialists, businessmen and general public affected by the floods.

He said that preparations are underway to bring a plan of 10 to 12-point policy reforms within a week to address the weak capital market under the second package.

Stating that preparations were underway to announce a special package for the promotion and revitalization of the private sector, the Finance Minister said that it would be forwarded as the third package.

He said that the government was working with priority to remove Nepal from the ‘grey list’ of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) under the fourth package.

Finance Minister Wagle said that works are being carried out by focusing on international financial mobilization for the reconstruction of the damages caused by the Bhotekoshi floods under the fifth package.

“We are moving ahead to bring in international funds and manage them,” he said.

President of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Anjan Shrestha, stressed that the government should promote the private sector by bringing special package for the industrialists, entrepreneurs and traders affected by the floods.
