Kathmandu. Prime Minister Balendra Shah and New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon held a telephone conversation today.

Prime Minister Shah informed his Indian counterpart that the search, rescue, relief and rehabilitation works following the Bhotekoshi floods have been intensified and the search for the missing foreigners, including New Zealanders, was being continued with high priority.

According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, Prime Minister Shah expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Luxon for the humanitarian assistance worth 2 million New Zealand Dollars provided by New Zealand.

Stating that Nepal is a country highly vulnerable in terms of climate-induced disasters, Prime Minister Shah expressed the belief that the New Zealand government would play constructive role in providing financial support to the disasters and damages caused by climate change in international forums.

Prime Minister Luxon expressed sorrow over the dire situation Nepal is facing and expressed condolences and solidarity on behalf of the Government and people of New Zealand.
