Lamichhane’s three achievements in a single match

Kathmandu. Sandeep Lamichhane, the captain of the Nepali one-day team, has become the first bowler to take 300 wickets in international cricket. He achieved this feat after taking one wicket in the final match of the ACC Premier Cup against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Saturday.

Sandeep has so far taken 158 wickets in ODIs and 142 wickets in T20Is. He has played 79 matches in ODIs and 78 in T20Is so far. Sandeep has also made the achievement of winning the ACC Premier Cup title in foreign grounds.TAG_OPEN_div_11

Nepal won the ACC Premier Cup title held in 2023 on home ground. At that time, Rohit Kumar Paudel was the captain of the Nepali team. Captain Lamichhane has also become the first player to be declared the ‘Player of the Series’ for the second consecutive time in the ACC Premier Cup. He was also selected as the best player in the 2023 edition. In the Premier Cup of that year, Sandeep scored 55 runs and took 13 wickets.TAG_OPEN_div_9

This time he performed even better. Sandeep took 17 wickets in six matches in the ACC Premier Cup 2026 at an economy rate of 2.98. His contribution was important for Nepal to make it to the second Asia Cup.
