Kathmandu. The dispute of the Central Working Committee of the Computer Association Federation of Nepal (CAN Federation) has reached a very high level at this time.

The dispute over the leadership of CAN has also reached the police office.

Acting President of CAN, Chiranjibi Adhikari, had sought a written explanation within 24 hours from General Secretary Chandra Bilas Bhurtel for violating the statute and serious indiscipline on August 27.

Bhurtel lodged a complaint with the Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police on May 15 after he did not give any explanation.

The chairman claims that the general secretary has made the email accounts of the members of the executive committee ‘incoming and not sending’. The official claims that despite the direct request of the chairman, the login credentials of the official institutional email ([email protected]) were not made available to the acting chairman.

As a result, a complaint has been filed with the Cyber Bureau.

The Cyber Bureau has written a letter to CAN on September 22 asking for logs, access logs and IP logs for the last six months.

It has also asked for details of all users of the last 1 year and additional technical details.

Similarly, the general secretary has been accused of ignoring the directive of the acting chairman regarding the management of the meeting and announcing the abruptly postponement of the office bearers meeting on August 18 against the established protocol.

Similarly, it is alleged that the Secretariat was unexpectedly closed on August 5 without any formal decision, obstructing daily administrative work.

Likewise, the committee has demanded clarification on the issue of filling up the form in the name of former president Nawaraj Kunwar to participate in the upcoming general assembly and file candidacy without institutional approval or decision of the central committee.

The clarification letter states that the central committee has taken these activities as serious indiscipline, violation of the dignity of the post and exceeding the limit of the limited executive role assigned to the General Secretary by the CAN Federation Statute, 2070 (with amendment).

In the clarification sought by the Acting President of CAN, it was stated that if a satisfactory written explanation is not submitted within the stipulated time limit of 24 hours or if the reply received is not satisfactory, necessary action will be taken immediately as per Section 37 (c) and Section 38 of the Statute of CAN Federation. So far, it has not been completed.

On the other hand, CAN General Secretary Bhurtel said that the organization is not a private company of anyone. The acting president said that he should not behave like the president who has been elected.

He urged the acting president to work in the same manner and not to run the FNCCI like a private company.
