Kathmandu. There are signs of improvement in the country’s external sector. The current account surplus stood at Rs 94.59 billion while the balance of payment stood at Rs 90.34 billion.
In the same period of the previous year, the current account was in savings of $78.29 billion. In US dollars, the current account was in savings of $620 million in the review period as compared to $560 million in the same period of the previous year.
During the review period, the current account savings have increased compared to the same period last year. This indicates an improvement in the situation in the external sector of the country.
In the review period, the net capital transfer was Rs 630 million. Such transfers were Rs 1.04 billion in the same period of the previous year.
Similarly, during the review period, only Rs 1.01 billion foreign direct investment (equity) has been received. Such FDI was Rs 690 million in the same period of the previous year.
Meanwhile, the balance of payment position stood at Rs 90.34 billion in the review period. The balance of payment position stood at Rs 89.30 billion in the same period of the previous year.
In US dollars, the surplus was $ 640 million in the same period of the previous year, while the balance of payment situation is $ 59 million in the review period.
