Kathmandu. The Department of Labor and Occupational Security and Labor Offices under the Ministry of Youth, Labour and Employment have paid Rs 2,83,58,202 as of the end of September of the fiscal year 2083/84.
Through the complaints registered in the month of Bhadra, reconciliation and the instructions of the department, the withheld salary of Rs 1,43,12,387 has been paid.
Similarly, due to mutual agreement between the workers and the establishment, the payment of 55,57,735 has been settled in the month of September. During the review period, 148 individual and 3 collective claim complaints have been registered and 63 labor disputes have been resolved.
In order to ensure compliance with the labour laws, the department and its labour offices have conducted labour inspections of 248 establishments and child labour inspections in 244 establishments in the month of September. A total of 619 establishments have been inspected and 595 child labour inspections have been completed till the end of September. During the same period, 386 labour audit reports have been received.
In the month of September, 3 new trade unions have been registered and 18 have been renewed. In addition, 5 new licenses have been granted and 47 have been renewed towards the Labor Supplier (Supply Company) license.
In the previous month, 1 industrial accident was registered. The department has been providing dignified service to the customers on the basis of ‘first come, first serve’.
