Electricity worth Rs 5 billion exported to 2 countries in August

Kathmandu. More than Rs 5.09 billion was exported in August.

According to the Nepal Electricity Authority, a total of 56 crore 56 lakh six thousand 443 units of electricity were exported to India and Bangladesh during the period. The electricity was sold through bilateral agreements and the electricity market.

More than 421.6 million units of electricity has been sold through bilateral agreement and more than 143.9 million units of electricity has been exported through exchange market earning Rs 1.44 billion.

NEA has said that the export of electricity to Bangladesh has been halted for now after structures at Chilime and Trishuli hydropower stations were damaged by the Bhotekoshi floods.
