Kathmandu. NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal has said that it will provide necessary facilitation and coordination to the automobile entrepreneurs affected by the floods and inundation in Bhotekoshi.

The NADA has started coordination with the government and stakeholders in view of the huge damage caused to vehicles, warehouses, office and equipment as well as commercial property in different areas have been badly damaged by the floods.

According to NADA, due to floods and inundation, vehicles at customs checkpoints and other places have been damaged and some vehicles have gone missing. There are reports that infrastructure and other property of the businessmen have also been damaged.

The affected member companies have been requested to submit details of damaged or lost vehicles, location of vehicles, customs checkpoints, number and type of vehicles, damage to warehouses and offices, insurance details and details related to loans.

NADA said it will coordinate with insurance companies to ease the insurance claim process and customs office for identification of lost or damaged vehicles and necessary procedures.

NADA also plans to take initiatives with the concerned bodies for possible facilitation including restructuring of the loans taken by the affected entrepreneurs from banks and financial institutions, review the repayment period.

NADA has said that it will present the complete details of the damage caused to the automobile sector to the government and stakeholders and take necessary relief, facilitation and policy address. For this, preparations have also been made to form a coordination and facilitation committee as per the need.

On the occasion, President of NADA, Surendra Kumar Upreti has urged the member entrepreneurs affected by floods and inundation to submit the details of the actual damage to the NADA Secretariat at the earliest.
