Kathmandu. The water level in small rivers and streams flowing in different districts of the country is likely to increase significantly. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, there is a moderate to high risk of flash floods in some areas today.

According to Meteorological Forecasting Division, water level in Taplejung, Panchthar, Ilam, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Tehrathum, Dhankuta, Sankhuwasabha, Bhojpur, Khotang, Udayapur, Saptari, Siraha, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Sindhuli, Okhaldhunga, Solukhumbu, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Sindhupalchowk, Kavrepalanchowk, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Makwanpur, Rautahat, Bara, Parsa, Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, Chitwan, Nawalparasi (east), Nawalparasi (west), Rupandehi, Tanahun, Kaski, Lamjung, Syangja, Manang, Mustang, Myagdi, Baglung, Parbat, Rukum (east), Rukum west, Rolpa, Salyan, Banke, Bardiya, Surkhet, Dailekh, Jajarkot, Jumla and Kalikot districts is likely to increase significantly.

These districts are at moderate risk of flash floods. Similarly, the water level in the small rivers and rivulets flowing in Palpa, Kapilvastu, Arghakhanchi, Gulmi, Pyuthan and Dang and adjoining districts is expected to increase significantly and there is a high risk of flash floods. Residents of the concerned areas have been urged to exercise vigilance in the vicinity of rivers and streams and take necessary precautions to avoid possible risks.
