Lalitpur. A two-and-a-half-storey house belonging to Sobit Kumar Thapa in Dhapakhel of Lalitpur Metropolitan City-24 has collapsed due to the recent rains.

According to Gautam Mishra, spokesperson of the District Police Range, Lalitpur, no human casualty has been reported so far though Thapa’s house slipped and fell into the river this morning.

Spokesperson Mishra said, “The two-and-a-half-storey house built on three annas near the office of Lalitpur Metropolitan City-24 collapsed in the morning. All the belongings were removed on Sunday after it was found that the house was in danger. ’’

Earlier on Sunday afternoon, the kitchen of the truss, which was adjacent to the house, fell about 20 meters down.

Thapa’s family, who were living in the house at risk, were shifted to a safer place. A police team was deployed to open the blocked stream and reduce the risk after the house slipped. After the house collapsed, the house of Amrita Sunuwar, who was near the western side of the property, was also evacuated.
