} Rasuwa and Tatopani border points, which are connected by road to neighboring country China, have not been obstructed. Korala checkpoint of Mustang which was in operation earlier is also closed due to damage to roads and bridges due to continuous floods and landslides from September 22 to 24.

As the festivals of Nepalis like Dashain, Tihar, Chhath and other festivals are approaching their homes, all the three major border points connected to China have been blocked, on the one hand, the foreign trade between the two countries has come to a standstill. On the other hand, the goods brought targeting the festivals have also been stopped towards the neighboring country China.

According to the Department of Customs, goods worth Rs 45.73 billion were imported through Rasuwa customs point in the fiscal year TAG_OPEN_div_56 2082/82.

This customs account for 2.18 percent of the total imports in the current fiscal year. Similarly, goods and goods worth Rs 89.46 crore were exported to foreign countries through Rasuwa customs in the same fiscal year. In the fiscal year 2081/82, goods and goods worth Rs 85.23 billion were imported through Rasuwa customs.

The share of imports from the said customs point was 4.72 percent of the total imports in the current fiscal year. Similarly, goods and goods worth Rs 2 billion 452 lakh 61 thousand were exported through this border point in the same year.

Not only Rasuwa border point, import and export are also being done through the Tatopani customs point, which is connected to China by road. More than 650,000 Nepalis are connected to Nepal. Minister Lamsal requested the Chinese side to take necessary initiatives for the operation of Tatopani and Korala border points as soon as possible.

On the occasion, Minister Lamsal called for necessary coordination with the Chinese government regarding the connectivity and smooth movement of around six hundred thousand Nepali citizens with the state and effective operation of Korala and Tatopani border points. Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Wang Maoming said that long-term and effective infrastructure could be built after conducting a special study for the reconstruction and operation of Rasuwagadhi transit point, which is the main trade hub of Nepal.TAG_OPEN_div_42

Ambassador Wang said that the Chinese government was positive regarding the operation of Korala and Tatopani border points and expressed commitment for necessary coordination and cooperation if the Nepal government sends a special proposal regarding the reconstruction and operation of Rasuwagadhi border point.
